Animal Action Hellas
GAWF’s (operating as ANIMAL ACTION in Greece) remit is wide and as well as practical and veterinary work, which is often life-saving, we campaign and lobby the Greek Parliament, support smaller animal welfare groups in Greece, run an education programme and offer training in animal care. We believe in working within Greece to find practical and sustainable solutions to animal welfare problems, and our track record speaks for itself. In February 2012, after a relentless campaign, GAWF welcomed the ban on both domestic and wild animal circuses – a first in Europe. We continue to build on this success every day with the help of our generous and compassionate supporters.

The establishment of this association is the fruit of a mature thought of a group of gifted Greek veterinarians who, being sensitized by the situation in Greece, are designed to contribute directly to its normalization by providing unmarried veterinary help to stray or wild animals in need of care or / and are excluded from veterinary care. In addition, the club also aims at enhancing the animal's sense of affection, hoping that stray animals will cease to be considered a "sore" and will gain the place they deserve in the heart of all Greeks.
